SOULMATE 2018
Soulmate’18 (1st–4th June 2018), curated in association with Easel Stories Art Gallery and held at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, was a thoughtfully envisioned group exhibition that brought together an inspiring confluence of senior and contemporary artistic voices from across India.
Rooted in the rich legacy of Indian art—one that spans from the ancient cave murals of Ajanta and Ellora to the diverse expressions of modern and contemporary practices—the exhibition celebrated both continuity and evolution within the artistic landscape.
Featuring distinguished artists such as Thota Vaikuntam, Ramesh Gorjala, and G. Subramanian, alongside several other accomplished and emerging practitioners, “Soulmate” created a meaningful dialogue between established masters and rising talent.
The exhibition was conceived as a platform to not only showcase the depth, individuality, and technical excellence of senior contemporary artists but also to support and encourage newer voices within the art community.
By bringing together over 20 artists under one roof, the show fostered a shared space of artistic exchange, cultural reflection, and audience engagement.
Through this initiative, we reaffirmed our commitment to promoting Indian art and providing a credible, visible platform for artists to connect with wider audiences, collectors, and connoisseurs, while strengthening the larger discourse around contemporary Indian art.
