Madhvi Parekh (b. 1942, Sanjaya, Gujarat) is a prominent Indian contemporary artist known for her vibrant, surreal paintings that blend folk traditions, childhood memories, and mythological themes. Influenced by her rural upbringing and inspired by her husband, artist Manu Parekh, she began painting in 1964. Her work incorporates elements from rangoli, embroidery, and Indian folk art, infused with a contemporary sensibility. Parekh’s art has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in India and internationally. She has received several accolades, including the National Award from the Lalit Kala Akademi in 1979 and the Kailash Lalit Kala Award in 2017.
