G.R. Iranna: The Narrator of Human Existence
G.R. Iranna (b. 1970, Sindgi, Karnataka) is a contemporary Indian artist renowned for his evocative, quasi-abstract works that explore themes of spirituality, impermanence, and human resilience. He earned his BFA from Gulbarga University and MFA from Delhi College of Art. His practice spans painting, installation, and mixed media, often incorporating unconventional materials like ash, tarpaulin, and charcoal to create deeply textured surfaces. Iranna’s works have been exhibited globally, including at Gallery Espace (New Delhi), The Guild Art Gallery (Mumbai), and Aicon Gallery (London). He currently lives and works in New Delhi.
